Diagnostic Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 15 other vehicles, including the 2000 GMC Yukon, 2000 GMC Savana Special, 2000 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2000 GMC Savana, and 2000 GMC Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Passlock™ module connector. Remove instrument panel cluster to remove SECURITY indicator light bulb. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Reconnect instrument panel cluster harness. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between module harness connector terminal B2 (Yellow wire) and ground. See Figure. If voltage is 9-16 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 9-16 volts, replace Passlock™ module. See PASSLOCK™ MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 3.
- Disconnect instrument panel cluster harness. Ensure ignition is on. Measure voltage between module harness connector terminal B2 (Yellow wire) and ground. See Figure. If voltage is 9-16 volts, repair short to voltage in Yellow wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage is not 9-16 volts, replace instrument panel cluster. After repairs, go to next step.
- Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
