Brake System Slow Release

  1. Were you sent here from SYMPTOMS - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING? If so, go to the next step. If not, go to STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to the next step.
  3. Inspect the brake assist system for proper operation. See BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to the next step.
  4. Inspect the drum brake system, if equipped, for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to the next step.
  5. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to the next step. If not, go to STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  6. Road test the vehicle to confirm proper operation. See BRAKE SYSTEM VEHICLE ROAD TEST  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step  2. If not, the system is okay.
