Oil Pressure Gauge Always Indicates Low (Oil Pressure Warning Light & Oil Pressure Okay)
- Disconnect oil pressure indicator light switch. Indicator light switch is located on front of engine with Blue/Yellow and Blue/Green wires. Turn ignition to ON position. If oil pressure warning buzzer stays on for a long period of time, go to step 3 . If oil pressure warning buzzer does not stay on for a long period of time, go to next step.
- Replace engine oil pressure switch. Recheck system operation.
- Locate and repair short to ground in Blue/Green wire between oil pressure switch and gauge cluster. If circuit is okay, replace gauge cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
- Reconnect all disconnected components and/or connectors. Check that engine oil warning buzzer operates properly. If buzzer is faulty, locate and repair problem circuit. See appropriate wiring diagram in WARNING SYSTEMS article.
