Brake Pad Wear Indicator Always On
- Perform SYSTEM CHECK . Go to next step.
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels and inspect brake pads for wear, damage to sensors or damaged wiring and/or connectors. If problem is found, repair and recheck operation. If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Disconnect left and right side brake pad wear sensors. Use DVOM and measure resistance across both terminals of each sensor. If resistance is indicated, go to step 5 . If no resistance is indicated, go to next step.
- Replace suspect sensor that failed resistance test. Recheck system operation.
- Use DVOM and measure resistance between ground and right front brake pad wear sensor connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). If reading is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If reading is not 0-2 ohms, go to step 7 .
- Repair open in Gray/Red wire between right and left brake pad wear sensors or Yellow/Red wire between left brake pad wear sensor and gauge cluster. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open in Black wire between right brake pad wear indicator and ground. Recheck system operation.
