DTC B1557: EEPROM Calibration Error: Description
DTC B1557 will set when IPC Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Message (EEPROM) microprocessor (which stores calibrations for analog gauge, manufacturing information, vehicle option information and VIN) has an unrecoverable error.
When DTC B1557 is set, IPC will use default calibrations, driver message center will display OPTIONS NOT SET, manufacturing data and VIN will change to zero, and override display information will set as specified. See OVERRIDE DISPLAY INFORMATION table.
