DTC B2780: Pass-Key(R) II Wrong Resistor Value Before Good: Testing

  1. If IPC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If IPC diagnostic system check was not performed, go to procedures in IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Ensure key is clean and free from contamination. Insert key into ignition switch. Start engine. If STARTING DISABLED message is displayed, go to step 4). If STARTING DISABLED message is not displayed, go to next step.
  3. If ignition key is damaged, replace key. Perform procedures in IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . If ignition key is okay, perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK.
  4. Using each valid vehicle ignition key, attempt to start engine. Wait 3 minutes between each attempt. If engine starts, go to step 6). If engine does not start, go to next step.
  5. Perform procedure for replacement of lost PASS-Key(R) II ignition keys. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article. Start engine. If engine starts, perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . If engine does not start, go to next step.
  6. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
