DTC B1552: Loss Of Keep Alive Memory (KAM): Description

DTC B1552 indicates that battery-backed or Keep Alive Memory (KAM) has been reset. This occurs when power or ground is removed from IPC (such as disconnecting vehicle battery).

DTC B1552 will set when there is a short in class 2 serial data line and PZM attempts to activate low power mode (about 20 minutes after ignition switch is turned to OFF position). If PZM DTC B1552 is also set, a battery disconnection probably occurred.

When DTC B1552 is set, IPC KAM data (trip odometer and timer) is reset to initial values. Average fuel economy, fuel used and average MPH will reset to zero. If battery is disconnected, climate control will default to automatic HVAC mode and automatic fan mode, and display a set temperature of 75°F. If only IPC was disconnected, climate control should return to previous settings when ignition switch is turned to ON position.
