Trunk Ajar Message Always On

  1. Connect scan tool. Disconnect trunk compartment lid pull-down motor. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, read status for trunk ajar switch. If scan tool displays OFF for trunk ajar switch input, go to step 3). If scan tool does not display OFF for trunk ajar switch input, go to next step.
  2. Repair short in Red/Black wire between trunk compartment lid pull-down motor and Platform Zone Module (PZM) Brown 24-pin connector C1, terminal B10. Recheck system operation.
  3. Replace trunk compartment lid pull-down motor. See procedures in POWER TRUNK & FUEL DOOR RELEASE article. Recheck system operation.
