Driver's Information Center (DIC) Inoperative (Analog Cluster): Testing

  1. If all DIC buttons are inoperative, go to step 5). If not all DIC buttons are inoperative, go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool. Press each DIC button. Using scan tool, read status for each DIC button in IPC data. If scan tool displays ON when each DIC button is pressed, go to step 8). If scan tool does not display ON when each DIC button is pressed, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect DIC switch connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between DIC switch harness connector terminal No. 15 (Black/White wire) and appropriate terminal for inoperative DIC button. Refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS . Using scan tool, read status for inoperative DIC button in IPC data. If scan tool displays ON, go to step 7). If scan tool does not display ON, go to next step.
  4. Repair open in appropriate circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
  5. Disconnect DIC switch connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between DIC switch harness connector terminals No. 13 (Orange wire) and No. 15 (Black/White wire). Using scan tool, read status for RESET button in IPC data. If scan tool displays ON, go to step 7). If scan tool does not display ON, go to next step.
  6. Repair open in Black/White wire between DIC switch and ground. Recheck system operation.
  7. Replace DIC switch. Recheck system operation.
  8. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTING.
