Door Ajar Message Inoperative

NOTE: For driver's door, see DRIVER DOOR AJAR MESSAGE INOPERATIVE .
  1. Check operation of interior lights. If interior lights operate properly, go to next step. If interior lights do not operate properly, go to step 14).
  2. Connect scan tool. Close and open right front door. Using scan tool, read status for passenger door jamb switch. If scan tool displays ON when right front door is open, go to step 10). If scan tool does not display ON when right front door is open, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Platform Zone Module (PZM) Brown 24-pin connector C1. Connect a test light between PZM harness connector C1, terminal A5 (Black wire) and battery voltage. Open all passenger doors to ajar position. If test light illuminates, go to step 15). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  4. Close all passenger doors. Open right front door to ajar position. If test light illuminates, go to step 8). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect right front door jamb switch. Connect a fused jumper wire between right front door jamb switch harness connector terminal "C" (Black wire) and "A" (Black/White wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 7). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  6. Repair open in Black wire between right front door jamb switch and splice S326 (located in body wiring harness, about 6" from cross vehicle breakout). Recheck system operation.
  7. Replace right front door jamb switch. Recheck system operation.
  8. Close right front door. Open right rear door to ajar position. If test light illuminates, go to step 12). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  9. Disconnect right rear door jamb switch. Connect a fused jumper wire between right rear door jamb switch harness connector terminal "C" (Black wire) and "A" (Black/White wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 11). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  10. Repair open in Black wire between right rear door jamb switch and splice S326 (located in body wiring harness, about 6" from cross vehicle breakout). Recheck system operation.
  11. Replace right rear door jamb switch. Recheck system operation.
  12. Disconnect left rear door jamb switch. Connect a fused jumper wire between left rear door jamb switch harness connector terminal "B" (Black wire) and "D" (Black/White wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 14).
  13. Repair open in Black wire between left rear door jamb switch and splice S326 (located in body wiring harness, about 6" from cross vehicle breakout). Recheck system operation.
  14. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTING.
  15. Repair open in Black wire between door jamb switches and ground. Recheck system operation.
