Brake Pad Wear Indicator Always On
- Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels and inspect brake pads for wear, damage to sensors or damaged wiring and/or connectors. If problem is found, repair and recheck operation. If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Disconnect left and right side brake pad wear sensors. Use DVOM and measure resistance across both terminals of each sensor. If resistance is indicated, go to step 5). If no resistance is indicated, go to next step.
- Replace suspect sensor that failed resistance test. Recheck system operation.
- Use DVOM and measure resistance between ground and right front brake pad wear sensor connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). If reading is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If reading is not 0-2 ohms, go to step 7).
- Repair open in Gray/Red wire between right and left brake pad wear sensors or Yellow/Red wire between left brake pad wear sensor and gauge cluster. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open in Black wire between right brake pad wear indicator and ground. Recheck system operation.
