Code C1768: Position Sensor Supply Fault

  1. Perform CVRSS system check. See CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing CVRSS system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using DVOM, backprobe measuring voltage at left rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module connector C2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is less than 6 volts, go to step 4). If voltage is more than 6 volts, go to next step.
  3. If voltage is more than 9 volts, go to step 12). If voltage is less than 9 volts, go to step 20).
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 24-pin CVRSS control module connector C2. Check continuity between left rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  5. Check continuity between right rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  6. Check continuity between left front position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  7. Check continuity between right front position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  8. Check continuity between left rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) and left rear position sensor ground circuit (Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  9. Check continuity between right rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) and right rear position sensor ground circuit (Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  10. Check continuity between left front position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) and left front position sensor ground circuit (Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  11. Check continuity between right front position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) and right front position sensor ground circuit (Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  12. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 24-pin CVRSS control module connector C2. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using DVOM, measure voltage between left rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 16). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 20).
  13. Using DVOM, measure voltage between right rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 17). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  14. Using DVOM, measure voltage between left front position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 18). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  15. Using DVOM, measure voltage between right front position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C2 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 19). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 20).
  16. Repair short to voltage in left rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire). Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  .
  17. Repair short to voltage in right rear position sensor 8-volt reference circuit (Light Green/Black wire). Repair as necessary. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  .
