Code S051, RSS Control Module Calibration Fault: Description
The RSS control module performs checks of internal calibration data. If a fault condition is detected RSS module will set fault code and turn on SERVICE RIDE CONTROL message. RSS will either disable shock dampers or enter a degraded mode. Fault recovery is only attempted after ignition is cycled off and on.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- After recalibrating RSS module, adjust trim height and steering sensor trim position. See TRIM HEIGHT and STEERING SENSOR TRIM POSITION under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Replacement RSS module will have Code 51 stored in memory when shipped. After replacement, RSS module must be calibrated. See CALIBRATING RSS MODULE under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Adjust trim height and steering sensor trim position. See TRIM HEIGHT and STEERING SENSOR TRIM POSITION under ADJUSTMENTS.
NOTE:
After repairs, clear DTCs and verify system operation.
