RSS System Check

  1. Turn ignition on. Note all messages on instrument panel cluster. Enter diagnostics. See USING DIAGNOSTICS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. If diagnostics can be entered, go to next step. If diagnostics cannot be entered, problem exists in instrument panel cluster. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANEL article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIP section.
  2. Record codes (if present). If no codes are present, go to next step. If codes are present, go to appropriate diagnostic chart. See DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS .
  3. If SERVICE RIDE CONTROL message is displayed, go to SERVICE RIDE CONTROL MESSAGE DISPLAYED, NO RSS CODES SET  chart under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS. If SERVICE RIDE CONTROL message is not displayed, problem is no longer present. See NOTES ON INTERMITTENTS .
NOTE: When using diagnostic charts, refer to Fig. 3 for identification of RSS module connector terminals.
