Action Taken

The RSS module stops driving the solenoid within the first one-millisecond sample in which a large current change is sensed, waits 5 seconds, retries driving the solenoid and re-senses for feedback.

If the feedback change is reasonable, the RSS module resumes normal operation. If the feedback change is too great, the RSS module repeats this "stop-wait-retry/re-sense" sequence. The RSS module increases a software counter for each large feedback change observed or decreases it for each normal feedback change observed. If the counter reaches 3 counts at any time, the RSS module sets a code, turns on the SERVICE RIDE CONTROL message and stops driving the solenoid for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
