Action Taken

RSS module stops driving the solenoid within the first one-millisecond sample in which a fault is sensed during a commanded boost state or during a commanded hold PWM high state. RSS module then waits 5 seconds, retries driving the solenoid and re-senses for feedback.

If the fault is not present, RSS module resumes normal operation. If the fault is still present, the RSS module repeats this "stop-wait-retry/re-sense" sequence. It also increases a software counter for each fault observed or decreases it for each fault not observed.

If the counter reaches 3 counts at any time, a code sets, the SERVICE RIDE CONTROL message is displayed and the RSS module stops driving the solenoid for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
