Clearing Codes

  1. Turn ignition on. At DLC, connect a jumper wire between terminals "A" and "C" for one second and then disconnect for one second. Do this 3 times, pausing one second between connections. See Figure. When all codes are cleared, error light will go out for one second.
  2. Codes cannot be cleared by disconnecting battery cable or SSS control module connector. When codes are cleared, ignition cycle counter is disabled until SSS control module successfully completes a self-test. Code 31 (Lift/Dive Signal Error) requires a cycle of ignition switch to retest.
