Key In Ignition Input Test
- Disconnect electrical connector at chime module located behind right side of instrument panel, behind glove box. Put ignition key in ignition switch. Leave ignition switch in LOCK position, and open driver's door. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage between connector terminals "A" (Orange wire) and "F" (Light Green wire).
- If battery voltage is not present, check ignition key warning switch and driver's door jamb switch wiring for open circuit. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
- Remove key from ignition switch, and leave driver's door open. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage between connector terminals "A" (Orange wire) and "F" (Light Green wire). If voltage reading is zero, go to next step. If voltage is present, check Light Green wire for short to ground. Check ignition key warning switch. Warning switch should be open when key is removed.
- With key in ignition and all doors closed, use voltmeter to check for battery voltage between connector terminals "A" (Orange wire) and "F" (Light Green wire). If voltage reading is zero, replace chime module. If voltage is present, check door jam switch and wiring for short to ground. Check door jamb switch. Switch should be open with doors closed.
