Fasten Seat Belt Input Test

  1. Disconnect electrical connector at chime module located behind right side of instrument panel, behind glove box. Turn ignition switch to RUN position, and leave seat belt unbuckled. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage between connector terminal "D" (Pink/Black wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit in Pink/Black wire.
  2. Check for battery voltage between connector terminals "D" (Pink/Black wire) and "H" (Black wire). If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check seat belt switch and Black wire for an open circuit.
  3. Buckle left seat belt, and leave ignition switch in RUN position. Check for battery voltage between connector terminals "D" (Pink/Black wire) and "H" (Black wire). If voltage reading is zero, replace chime module. If voltage is present, check Black wire for short to ground. If wire is okay, replace seat belt switch.
