Oil Pressure Switch Test

  1. Ensure oil pressure and level are correct. If oil pressure and level are okay, disconnect oil pressure switch. Turn ignition switch to RUN position, and observe STOP ENGINE OIL warning indicator light. If STOP ENGINE OIL warning indicator light is not illuminated, replace oil pressure switch.
  2. If STOP ENGINE OIL warning indicator light is illuminated, check Tan wire and flexible circuit for a short to ground. If the flexible circuit is okay, replace instrument cluster.
