Open Wire Test

  1. Remove engine metal temperature switch connector. Connect a jumper wire between terminal "A" (Light Green wire) and ground. Turn ignition switch to RUN position, and observe STOP ENGINE TEMPERATURE warning indicator light.
  2. If warning indicator light is illuminated, replace engine metal temperature switch. If warning indicator light is not illuminated, check Light Green wire and flexible circuit for an open circuit. If Light Green wire and flexible circuit are okay, use a voltmeter to check for battery voltage at right instrument panel connector terminal No. 7 (flexible circuit). See Figure . If voltage is okay, replace instrument cluster.
