Fasten Seat Belt Input Test

  1. Disconnect electrical connector at chime module (located behind left side of instrument panel). Turn ignition switch on and leave seat belt unbuckled. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage between Pink/Black wire harness connector and ground. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Pink/Black wire.
  2. Check for battery voltage between Pink/Black wire and Black (ground) wire harness connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Black wire. Check seat belt switch. Switch should be closed when belt is unbuckled completing path to ground.
  3. Buckle seat belt and leave key on. Repeat step 2) voltage test. Voltage reading should be zero. If voltage is present, Check Black wire for short to ground. If wire is okay, replace seat belt switch.
