Leaf Spring & Insulators: Installation

Install upper outboard spring insulators with molded arrow facing toward center line of vehicle. Tighten insulator nuts to specification. Install spring. Ensure outboard and center insulator locating bands are centered on spring insulators.
NOTE: Improper positioning of spring correctly will result in reduced vehicle handling.
Install lower insulator and spring retainer on side opposite disassembled portion of suspension system. Position jack stand under free end of spring. Slowly lower vehicle to compress spring so spring seats in suspension support.
Install lower insulator and spring retainer. Tighten to specification. Raise vehicle and remove jack stand. Install control arm assembly. Install inner control arm bolts and nuts. DO NOT tighten bolts at this time.
Install lower strut insulator. Position strut rod in suspension support assembly. Install upper strut insulator, retainer and nut. Tighten to specification. Reverse removal procedures for remaining components. Tighten bolts to specification. Check and adjust rear wheel alignment.
