Removal ("E" & "K" Bodies)
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. If working on left control arm, disconnect ELC height sensor link (if equipped). Disconnect speed sensor from knuckle if equipped with anti-lock brake system. On all models, remove stabilizer bar mounting bolt at strut (if equipped).
- Install 2 lug nuts to retain rotor. Remove caliper assembly. Loosen outer knuckle pivot bolt. DO NOT remove at this time. Remove strut rod cap, mounting nut, retainer and upper insulator.
- Compress strut and remove lower insulator. Support knuckle and remove knuckle pivot bolt. Remove knuckle, strut, hub and rotor assembly from vehicle. Remove inner control arm bolts. Remove control arm.
NOTE:
Outer control arm bushings can be replaced without removing control arm. If inner control arm bolts are not disturbed, rear wheel alignment will not need to be checked after bushing replacement.
