Outer Control Arm Bushing Replacement
- For on car service, perform steps 1) through 3) under REMOVAL of CONTROL ARM in this article. Install Spacer (J-35739-1 ) between control arm flanges. Use wide spacer for outer bushing removal.
- Coat threads of Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ) with grease. Install Remover (J-35739-2 ), Receiver (J-21474-5 ), Nut (J-21474-18 ), and Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ) on control arm. See Fig 1 . Tighten nut to remove bushing.
- For installation, position new bushing on control arm. Install bushing from outside of control arm inward. Install wide end of spacer between control arm flanges.
- Coat threads of bolt and bearing with grease. Place installer, receiver, nut, and bolt and bearing on control arm. See Fig 1 . Tighten nut until bushing flange seats against control arm.
