Suspension - Rear (Fwd): Description
The "C" and "H" bodies use an independent rear suspension supported by 2 ball joints, lower control arms, coil springs, and non-serviceable struts. Air adjustable struts are standard on "C" body and optional on "H" body. Stabilizer bar is used to minimize body roll. Control arms are equipped with suspension adjustment links for toe adjustments.
The "E" and "K" bodies use an independent transverse mounted leaf spring rear suspension. Rear suspension components are mounted on a suspension crossmember assembly mounted to the body.
On all bodies, hub and bearing assembly is connected to the suspension system by the knuckle and struts. Hub and bearing assembly are a complete unit and cannot be serviced individually. Some models contain Electronic Level Control (ELC) for suspension operation depending on vehicle load.
