Outer Control Arm Bushing Replacement
- Insert Spacer (J-35739-1 ) between control arm flanges. Use the wide spacer for outer bushing removal. Coat the threads of Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ) with high pressure lubricant to prevent thread damage. Install Remover (J-35739-2 ), Receiver (J-21474-5 ), Nut (J-21474-18 ) and, Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ) on control arm. See Fig 1 . Draw bushing out of control arm by tightening nut.
- To install, position new bushing on control arm. Bushing must be installed from outside of control arm. Insert wide end of Spacer (J-35739-1 ) between control arm flanges. Position Installer (J-28576-1 ), Receiver (J-35739-3 ), Nut (J-21474-18 ) and, Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ). See Fig 1 .
- Draw bushing into control arm by tightening nut. Tighten nut until bushing flange seats against the control arm.
