Inner Control Arm Bushing Replacement

  1. Insert Spacer (J-35739-1 ) between control arm flanges. Use the narrow spacer for inner bushing removal. Coat the threads of Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ) with high pressure lubricant to prevent thread damage. Install Remover (J-21474-23 ), Receiver (J-21474-5 ), Nut (J-21474-18 ) and, Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ) on control arm. See Figure . Draw bushing out of control arm by tightening nut.
  2. To install, position new bushing on control arm. Bushing must be installed from outside of control arm. Insert narrow end of Spacer (J-35739-1 ) between control arm flanges. Position Installer (J-28576-1 ), Receiver (J-21474-5 ), Nut (J-21474-18 ) and, Bolt and Bearing (J-21474-19 ). See Figure .
  3. Draw bushing into control arm by tightening nut. Tighten nut until bushing flange seats against the control arm.
