A/T - 440T4 Slips Or No Movement Forward

SUBJECT: 440-T4

PROBLEM:
Slips, or no movement forward and reverse after overhaul. Oil Pressure checks will be normal.

CAUSE:
Third clutch backing plate snap ring installed in place of input clutch backing plate snap ring.




If the input clutch backing plate snap ring is installed at the 3rd clutch backing plate snap ring position, it will prevent, or interfere with the input clutch apply piston's ability to apply the input clutches.
