A/T - 440T4 Bind-Up/Fourth Gear After Rebuild

SUBJECT: 440 T4

PROBLEM:
Bind-up when transmission shifts into fourth gear after rebuild.

SOLUTION:
The problem may be that the input clutch apply plate is installed up-side-down.

When the third clutch applies, it will also jam or apply the input clutch, if the apply plate is up-side-down.

The input clutch must be released for the transmission to work properly in fourth gear.
