Camshaft & Injection Pump Driven Gear Bearings: Installation
To install bearings, reverse procedure and place each bearing in front bore with tapered edge toward block. Align oil hole in bearing with center of oil slot in bore. Mark bottom of bearing. This mark will act as a guide. Use a piece of 3/32" brass rod with a 90° bend at one end to check oil hole opening. Wire must enter hole or bearing will not receive oil. See Fig 1.
