Fuel Gauge
Fuel gauge is an electromagnetic type, with a variable resistance sending unit in the tank. Connections to the gauge are made by a printed circuit. Vehicles with digital instrument clusters provide 0 to 1-1/2 D.C. volts to the sending unit according to the amount of fuel remaining in the tank. This variable voltage is interpreted by the cluster microprocessor as a specific number of gallons and is displayed on the digital fuel display.
