Instrument Panel Top Cover

Disconnect negative battery cable.

NOTE: Screws must be removed in the following sequence to prevent damage to plastic bosses if stress should be present in panel.

Open glove box and remove two screws securing top cover to instrument panel. On air conditioned cars, remove aspirator hose from sensor thru top of glove box. Remove four screws securing top cover to instrument panel bezel assembly, lift up lightly and pull top cover rearward to disengage from cowl.

NOTE: On cars with tilt wheel, removal can be facilitated by placing wheel in low position.

Disconnect speaker wires at radio, raise top cover high enough for access and disconnect twilight sentinel photocell at left front speaker opening, and sensor harness connector from sensor (if equipped). Disconnect clock electric feed wires and lamp assembly, remove instrument panel top cover.
