When the gear selector is moved to the Reverse (R) position (from the Park position) the 5-7 reverse solenoid, the clutch select control solenoid and the VFS S4 solenoid is commanded ON and the 1 reverse and 6-7-8-9 solenoid is commanded OFF and the following changes occur in the transmission's hydraulic and electrical systems:
