Sunroof/Sunshade Motor Initialization
Perform the Initialization/Learn procedure any time:
- A new sunroof motor/actuator has been installed.
- The existing sunroof motor/actuator has been removed and reinstalled.
- The sunroof system has suffered 7 interruptions for emergency events, i.e. anti-pinch, debris in tracks etc., and normal operation is canceled.
By performing the Initialization/Learn procedure, the sunroof motor/actuator records the open vent stop position. The motor/actuator will then understand the other positions, closed and full open soft stop, and allow express and obstacle detection functions.
- Ensure that all electrical harness connectors are connected.
- Vehicle ON.
- Vehicle is not moving.
- Temperature is between +5 to +45°C (+41 to +113°F).
- Completely close the sunroof and sunshade with the manual close switches.
- Press and hold the sunroof slide switch in the closed position for 10 seconds (do not release the switch through movement). The following will occur.
- The sunroof blind will move to full open position
- The sunroof will then move to full open position
- The sunroof will then move to full close position
- Release the switch.
- Hold the close sunroof blind switch to achieve full close on sunroof blind.
- Release the switch.
- Hold the close sunroof blind switch for 10s, the following will occur (do not release the switch through movement). The following will occur.
- The sunroof blind will move to full open position
- The sunroof blind will then move to full close position
- Release the switch.
- Verify the operation of the sunroof in all positions.
- The initialization Process must be repeated in order to re-gain express movements and normal function.
IMPORTANT:
The Initialization/Learn procedure is not complete if the vehicle battery power has been interrupted during the process.
The Initialization/Learn Process must be restarted if the procedure is not carried out completely.
