Circuit/System Testing
NOTE:
- Circuit/System Verification must be performed before proceeding with Circuit/System Testing.
- If there are multiple modules not original to the vehicle and they are used or incorrectly configured service parts, SPS may not be able to properly read or recover the vehicle odometer value. Follow government rules and documentation (including vehicle identification) regarding inaccurate/unknown odometer values.
Instrument Cluster is Showing "----" (Dashes)
- Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Verify the scan tool BCM Odometer parameter matches the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module Odometer parameter.
- If the Odometer values match
Replace the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the Odometer values do not match
- If the Odometer values match
- Reprogram the Body Control Module.
- Verify the scan tool BCM Odometer parameter matches the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module Odometer parameter.
- If the Odometer values match
All OK.
- If the BCM Odometer value is lower
Replace the Body Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the BCM Odometer value is greater
- If the Odometer values match
- Reprogram the P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module.
- Ignition/Vehicle OFF.
- Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Verify the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module odometer is displaying the correct value.
- If the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module is still displaying "----" (dashes)
Replace the P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module is displaying the correct value
- If the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module is still displaying "----" (dashes)
- All OK.

The BCM Odometer parameter resides in the scan tool under BCM Identification Information. The Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module Odometer parameter resides in the scan tool under Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module Data Display.
