Removal Procedure

- Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling
Water Pump Inlet Pipe (2) - Remove - Water Pump Inlet Pipe Replacement (3.6L LGX)
Water Pump (1) - Remove - Water Pump Replacement (3.6L LGX)
- Crankshaft Balancer - Remove - Crankshaft Balancer Replacement
Camshaft Cover - Left Side (2) - Remove - Camshaft Cover Replacement - Left Side
Camshaft Cover - Right Side (2) - Remove - Camshaft Cover Replacement - Right Side
Engine Mount Bracket (3) - Remove - Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side
- Oil Pan - Remove - Oil Pan Replacement (AWD)
Remove the engine front cover with the water pump. Engine Front Cover Removal
- Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness - Remove - Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness Replacement
- Disassemble the engine front cover. Engine Front Cover Disassemble
- Carefully clean the engine front cover sealing surfaces. Engine Front Cover Cleaning and Inspection
- Use compressed air in order to remove any engine coolant from the engine cooling passages and from the top of the oil pan scraper.
NOTE:
Do NOT use sharp and/or metal gasket scrapers in order to clean the sealing surfaces.
NOTE:
Insert a piece of cardboard between the oil pan front and the oil pump in order to prevent any contaminants from falling into the oil pan.
