Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC U18A2 is not set.
- If DTC U18A2 is set
- Go to next step: If DTC U18A2 is not set
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Test for 12. 4 to 12. 8 V between the test points: Battery Positive Post & Battery Negative Post
- If not between 12. 4 and 12. 8 V
Refer to: Battery Inspection/Test
- Go to next step: If between 12. 4 and 12. 8 V
- If not between 12. 4 and 12. 8 V
- Engine - Running - For greater than 15 s
- Accessories - Off
- Test for 13. 4 to 15 V between the test points: Battery Positive Post & Battery Negative Post
- If not between 13. 4 and 15 V
Refer to: Charging System Test
- Go to next step: If between 13. 4 and 15 V
- If not between 13. 4 and 15 V
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
The battery voltage should stabilize after a few minutes of turning the ignition/vehicle Off.
