Vacuum Pump Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LTG)Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LCV)
  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  3. Disconnect Engine Wiring Harness @ Vacuum Pump and reposition harness as necessary.
1 Vacuum Pump Fastener (Qty: 3)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Vacuum Pump

Procedure

  1. Lubricate the vacuum pump seal with clean engine oil. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  2. Align the vacuum pump drive with the slot in the camshaft.
NOTE:

Inspect the vacuum pump seal and replace as necessary.
3 Vacuum Pump Gasket
Procedure 
Inspect the vacuum pump gasket and replace as necessary.
