Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LEA)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.0L LHU) .
  2. Remove the instrument panel extension. Refer to Instrument Panel Extension Replacement
  3. Place protective coverings and appropriate drain pans below heater core to protect the carpeting.

Procedure

  1. Remove the inlet and outlet pipes from the core and reposition enough to allow the heater core to clear.
  2. Change sealing washers.
