Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect any harnesses or retainers secured to the lower control arm. Note any attaching points to aid in installation.
- Remove the steering knuckle nut (1) and bolt (2). Discard the bolt.
- Pry open the pinch joint to separate the lower control arm ball joint from the steering knuckle.
- Support the lower control arm with a jackstand or other suitable tool.
- Remove the front lower control arm front nut (1) and bolt (2). Discard the bolt.
- Remove the front lower control arm rear nuts (1) and bolts (2). Discard the bolts.
- Remove the lower control arm (3) from the vehicle.
- Transfer components as necessary.
NOTE:
Always use the appropriate tools to pry open the pinch joint on the steering knuckle at the lower control arm ball joint.
