Circuit/System Testing

- Identify how to disable high voltage.
- Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
- Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
- Perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure.
- Verify the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable terminal fasteners at the K59 Starter/Generator Control Module are properly torqued and do not have arc-flash damage.
- If any fasteners are loose and no arc-flash damage is present
Torque the fasteners and re-assemble the vehicle.
- If any fasteners are loose and arc-flash damage is present
Replace the damaged component or components.
- If all fasteners are properly torqued and no arc-flash damage is present
- If any fasteners are loose and no arc-flash damage is present
- Remove the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable cover at the A15 Starter Generator.
- Verify the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable terminal fasteners at the A15 Starter Generator are properly torqued and do not have arc-flash damage.
- If any fasteners are loose and no arc-flash damage is present
Refer to Internal Starter Generator Inspection.
- If any fasteners are loose and arc-flash damage is present
- Replace the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable.
- Refer to Internal Starter Generator Inspection.
- If all fasteners are properly torqued and no arc-flash damage is present
- If any fasteners are loose and no arc-flash damage is present
- Remove the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable from the K59 Starter Generator Control Module.
- Test for less than 0.5Ω between phases by measuring between the following AC circuit terminals:
- Phase U and phase V
- Phase U and phase W
- Phase V and phase W
- If 0.5Ω or greater
- Detach the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable assembly from the A15 Starter Generator.
- Test for less than 0.5Ω on each phase of the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable end to end.
- If 0.5Ω or greater, replace the 3-phase drive motor generator battery cable.
- If less than 0.5Ω, replace the A15 Starter Generator.
- If less than 0.5Ω
- Replace the A15 Starter Generator.
- Verify DTC P0C05 does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the K59 Starter/Generator Control Module.
- If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.

The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:
Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.
