Component Testing

Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B75B Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature sensor.
- Test the IAT sensor by varying the sensor temperature while monitoring the sensor resistance. Compare the readings with the Temperature Versus Resistance - Intake Air Temperature Sensor (Hitachi Sensors)
table for Hitachi Sensors. The resistance values should be in range of the table values.
- If the values are not with in range of the table values.
Replace the B75B Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature sensor.
- If the values are within range of the table values.
- If the values are not with in range of the table values.
- All OK.
NOTE:
A thermometer can be used to test the sensor off the vehicle.
