Lower Oil Pan Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement 
  2. Remove the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG FWD) or Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG AWD) .
1 Oil Pan Bolts (Qty 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Oil Pan Bolts (Qty;13)
Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
3 Oil Pan
Procedure 
Apply a 2.25 mm bead of sealer on the level part of the flange around the perimeter of the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
NOTE:
  • The lower crankcase surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
  • Install and align the oil pan to block within 20 minutes of applying the sealer.
  • The oil pan must be fastened to final torque specification within 60 minutes of applying the sealer.
