Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate S64 Seat Adjuster Switch. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
- Test for less than 10Ω between each ground circuit terminal listed below and ground:
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for less than 2Ω in the ground circuit end to end.
- If 2Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
- Ignition ON.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal D and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Ignition OFF
- Test for infinite resistance between the B+ circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Test for less than 2Ω in the B+ circuit end to end.
- If 2Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2Ω, verify the circuit breaker is not open and there is voltage at the circuit breaker.
- If the test lamp illuminates
- Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the S64 Seat Adjuster Switch and disconnect the harness connector at the M55 Seat Rear Vertical Motor.
- Connect a test lamp between control circuit terminal 1 and control circuit terminal 5, ignition ON.
- Verify the test lamp illuminates when commanding the M55 Seat Rear Vertical Motor Up and Down using the seat adjuster switch.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate during either of the commands
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S64 Seat Adjuster Switch.
- Test for infinite resistance between each control circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Test for less than 2Ω in each control circuit end to end.
- If 2Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2Ω, test or replace the S64 Seat Adjuster Switch.
- If the test lamp illuminates during each of the commands
- Test or replace the M55 Seat Rear Vertical Motor.
