Installation Procedure

  1. Position the front bumper energy absorber on the vehicle.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    Use only the original front bumper energy absorber fastener. Replace fastener if damaged.

  3. Install the 4 front bumper energy absorber fasteners (1) and tighten to the front compartment front inner side rail 115 N.m (85 lb ft).

  5. Drill two holes (1) 6mm (0.24in) along the edges of the front bumper energy absorber.

  7. Drill two holes (1) 6mm (0.24in) along the edges of the front bumper energy absorber.

    NOTE:

    Use only the original front end upper tie bar fastener (M6 bolt and nut). Replace the fastener if damaged.

  9. Install the 2 front end upper tie bar fasteners (1) and tighten to the front compartment front inner side rail 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

    NOTE:

    Use only the original front end upper tie bar fastener (M6 bolt and nut). Replace the fastener if damaged.

  11. Install the 2 front end upper tie bar fasteners (1) and tighten to the front compartment front inner side rail 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  12. Paint the repaired area. Refer to Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems .
  13. Install all related panels and components.
  14. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without Start/Stop) .
  15. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
