Parking Brake Cable Replacement (Electric Parking Brake)

Preliminary Procedures

1. Release the electric parking brake using electrical release:
   1. Set ignition in Run mode and put your foot on top of the service brake.
   2. Press the parking brake switch down and hold for 5 seconds, then a solid yellow telltale is shown on instrument panel.
   3. Press the parking brake switch again within 5 seconds, then a flashing yellow telltale is shown on instrument panel.
2. Release the electric parking brake using manual release:
   1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Standard)
   2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
   3. Remove the rear wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement .
   4. Remove the rubber plug.
   5. Using a square tool with measure 3,2 mm (1/8 in) release the tension of the cable.
   6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Standard) .
