Circuit/System Description

The driver information center switch is a multiplexed switch. The Menu button is its own switch. It utilizes a 5 V signal and is normally open. When the Menu button is pressed the signal is pulled low. The Up, Down, Set/Clr buttons are a series of momentary contact switches that connect a series of resistors in a resistor ladder format. The Up, Down, Set/Clr buttons utilize a 12 V signal and the instrument cluster determines which button is pressed by the voltage drop across the resistors when the button is pressed.
