Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the O-ring seal onto the oil level indicator tube, if necessary.
  3. Install the oil level indicator tube (420) to the engine block. The tube must be installed with the collar flush to the block.
    4. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the oil level indicator tube bolt (419)

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the oil level indicator (418) to the tube.
