Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
    IMPORTANT: Incase of power loss the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) switch must be manually released in order to remove the console trim plate. If no power loss proceed to step 4.
  1. lift up the console trip plate. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement .
    2. IMPORTANT: Wear gloves to protect hands from sharp edges

  2. Remove the BTSI pin cover (1).

  3. Depress BTSI switch pin (1) to release the shifter out of park.
  4. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement .

  5. Unsnap the shift cable terminal from the shifter pin.
  6. Remove the shift cable retaining clip (1) and the cable (2) from the shifter.

  7. Disengage the locking tab on the park lock cable and lift the cable out of the slot in the shifter.
  8. Unhook the park lock cable from the park lock cam on the shifter.
  9. Disconnect the electrical wire harness connector from the shifter assembly.

  10. Remove the shifter fasteners.
  11. Spread the console side panels apart and remove the shifter assembly.
